Hi my name is Doug Stoop. I am a 50 year old single dad, raising three teenage sons. Never dull. I coach baseball and basketball, and do my best at keeping up with the kids. Over the last 10 years I had gained alot of weight. A huge gut, fat belly. I wanted to lose weight and get a flat stomach.

I was embarrassed of my fat belly and tired of the jokes of having a keg belly, not six pack abs or even a flat stomach. My 13 year old son could not reach all the way around my stomach to give me a full hug. Being over-weight was also really hurting my legs, Pain from my legs and losing stamina was pissing me off. Heck, just getting up out of a recliner chair took extra effort.

Exercise to Lose Belly Fat

I believe a great fitness program involves a variety of exercises. I also believe in mixing up your work-out routines weekly. You will gain more successful results, of fat loss, by not repeating in the same order over & over again your same exercise routine. You can do the same exercises, just in a different order each week, rotate and switch them up. Your muscles will react better, increasing positive body fitness.

You must exercise your entire body, not just abs, but upper body, lower body and your core, for healthy and successful results. 

 1. Stretching - So very important. Before and after exercise routine. 

 2 . Weight training - Mix the order and type of exercises weekly or every two weeks. 

 3. Cardio - I use dance. I dance very fast and hard for 5 minutes, 4 separate times per session. Great music, alot of fun, and an intense work-out. There are many variations of exercise for cardio health. 

  4. Non-Tradional Exercises,  There are  hundreds and hundreds of exercises, spice up your workout, for fun and continued success in losing belly fat and your well-being. Do not get bored, keep it rolling.

With the word “diet” comes alot of negative vibes from most people. To me diet just equals what you eat. So we all have a diet. Some people join diet groups and programs, some count calories, and this is good Only If it works for you. I find people punish themselves mentally if they mess - up their diet program. This brings about stress which is bad for success in fitness and your health. So do not punish yourself if you splurge.

I personally use more of a common sense approach to my changes in types of food I consume. It works for me.

 1. No Soda - I drink water and real juice.   

 2. Cut Back on Snacks - Less potatoe chips, instead carrots and celery. 

 3. Cut Back on Unhealthy Fast Foods - There are some healthier choices to make at the drive thru.

 4. Stop eating late at night before bedtime - Do not starve yourself though. 

 5. Look at the ingredient labels on food you buy. - Sometimes it is surprising. 

6. When you do Splurge - Enjoy it! Do not beat yourself up emotionally, it will not ruin your life. Just continue forward, your next meal will be healthy.

 The two important components to lose belly fat and getting a flat stomach are : exercise and nutrition used in tandem. Also managing your daily levels of stress, and sleeping well at night are factors that must be worked on for maximum health and well-being. Remember to laugh, smile more, and have fun with your fitness program, it’s life changing.
